The Montour County Genealogical Society was founded in September 1999. We are a group of volunteers dedicated to the collection and preservation of information about families, past and present, of Montour County and to helping its families obtain the information they need to document their family heritage. In September 2015 we made a decision to discontinue quarterly meetings/programs and will have an annual dinner meeting, in September.
Dues for 2017 are $20.00 individual and $30.00 per family, effective January 1st, 2017. Advantages of membership include quarterly newsletters, free query listing in newsletters, reduced copying fees, free access to research materials in the genealogy room, advance notification of upcoming events and, of course, networking among those with Montour County roots. For membership information, contact our membership secretary, Sue Messersmith. For a printable membership application, click here.
The Montour County Genealogical Society's Genealogy Room is located on the second floor of the Thomas Beaver Free Library in Danville. From 1999 our years of progress are reflected in a growing collection of genealogical resource materials. Click here for further information.
